FUR THE LOVE OF FIBER! A mild interest just six years ago bloomed into a functional ranch to support my newfound medium in Garland, Nebraska – thanks to my loving and supportive husband! I have been an artist my whole life and worked in several different mediums with success but fell in love with FIBER ART most recently. First, I learned to spin fiber and then added in various critters to sustain my new interest including Leiceste Longwool/Corriedale/Merino/Shetland/Crossed sheep, Angora/Nigerian Dwarf/Silkies/Crossed goats, Alpacas and Llamas and even Highland Cattle. Some of our livestock has come and gone from the ranch through the years, but all contributed to my learning and desire to work with fiber.
I shear the animals myself and process most of the fiber at the ranch from cleaning to dying/spinning/fiber bats to finished product. I make FIBER ART that is needle felted/wet felted/quilted/rug hooked/woven/crocheted or a combination of the techniques. My artistic style is mainly impressionistic, and each piece is my own design and truly one-of-a-kind.
