I am a resident of Clay Center, NE, grew up in the Pine Ridge Area of western Nebraska. I became interested in pine needle basket making (a Native American craft) after purchasing a small basket in 2004. I am a self-taught artist. I collect all my own needles from the Ponderosa Pine trees in this area. A small basket can take 8-10 hours to create and as much as 60 to 100+ hours for a large one. It is truly a labor of love.
